DESCRIPTION:Owners of classic cars and antique wooden boats are encouraged to join us this year to share your beautiful treasures at our show. Invitations and entry forms can be found by clicking on the links below\, and can be downloaded and sent in. Deadlines are noted on the entry forms. Please contact our office if you have any questions.The classic cars and wooden boats are divided into roughly 40 classes for cars and 20 classes for boats. Formal judging takes place on Saturday. Awards will be presented Sunday. Main categories include Best of Class and Runner Up\, as well as Best of Show for both car and boat. Corinthian Awards are awarded to car and boats deserving of Special Mention. Emeritus Awards are presented to individuals who have contributed significantly to the growth of our event. The Awards presentation ends with the ultimate award known as the “Commodores Award for Best of Show for both car and boat. Peoples Choice Awards are presented Sunday afternoon as well. \nAll car and boat owners participating in the Concours are treated as honored guests. They receive Guest Membership cards for full use of the clubs restaurant and bar and pool facilities. Our objective is to extend the very best of “Texas Hospitality” to all involved to make them feel at home while at Lakewood. \nOvernight security is provided by a combination of Off-Duty Police officers as well as a group of Lakewood members who literally spend the night with the cars and boats. \nOver 200 additional volunteers are deployed throughout the grounds and harbor during the show hours to provide specific assistance to the car and boat owners all weekend. \nExhibitor Information for the 2014 event is coming soon. SUMMARY:Lake Conroe Wet/Buy/Sell/Swap Meet March 12\, 2016
DESCRIPTION:A one day wet meet at Lake Conroe on Saturday\, March 12th\, 2016. The meet will be hosted by members David Sr. and David Jr. Coffey. The meet will be held from 9:00AM to 5:00PM at Stow-A-Way Marina at the large covered pavilion next to the boat launch. Free boat launch and boat tie up for our members at the marina. \nThis marina is a great setting for this one day meet.  March is a quiet time of year so we have a great opportunity to launch our boats and outboards for a fun day of boating and socializing. \nFacilities and Features: \n\nA large covered pavilion\nFree boat launch.\nFree boat slips and a\nFull service store on site.\n\nDavid Coffey Sr. is hosting the meet and lunch will be provided for a token $5 per person. \nDirections:  Stow-A-Way Marina is super easy to get to and is located off of Interstate 45 about 1 hour north of Houston.  Take Exit # 97 / Calvary Road coming from either north or south off of I-45 and head west for 3.5 miles and the marina will be on the right side. \nLink to the Stowaway Marina is www.stowawaymarina.com and phone number 936-856-4531. \nQuestions? SUMMARY:2016 Lake Catherine Wet Meet
DESCRIPTION:If you have not taken the opportunity to attend a Lake Catherine Wet Meet\, you are definitely missing out.  You have to experience the picturesque beauty and steep canyons that surround this serene lake in Hot Springs\, Arkansas. \nIt is worth the drive! This is a great boating event to ‘exercise’ your boat and motor.  Come and enjoy the incredible natural beauty of this area while spending some fun time with other club members. \nWhile you are here\, don’t forget to make a side trip to ‘downtown’ Hot Springs and experience the original health bath attraction of the area.  The State Park cabins are very well appointed\, quite nice and comfortable. Our club has reserved 12 cabins for this meet so don’t wait too long to make your reservations for a cabin. Cabins rent from $87.00 to $107.00  per night depending on style/size. There is a 30 day cabin cancellation policy requirement at the state park to avoid being charged for one nights stay. DESCRIPTION:@ the NRG Center (Former Reliant/Astro Hall)\nThe Southwest Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society (SW ACBS) and the Texas Chapter of the Antique Outboard Motor Club (TXAOMCI) cordially invite you to come show your boats and outboard motors at this world class boat show. We have enough shared space for 15 boats and several clusters of motors. \nAs a fan of antique and classic boats and motors\, if you haven’t experienced this show\, you are in for a treat. Picture this…our oasis of classic woodies and motors is the entryway into the NRG assemblage of hundreds of dealers hawking 1000+ new plastic boats and motors that don’t at all resemble the art deco beauties we love and cherish. It’s very pleasing to enjoy the expressions on the faces of hundreds of folks attending the show when they get a look at our really cool vintage stuff. Our displays draw on deep memories and often spark conversations like\, “My dad or granddad use to have this or that…” or “Do you remember…?” and more. We attract many\, many visitors who ask some of the most interesting questions and you get to be the “go-to” answer guy with your hobby experience and knowledge. \nWe would like for interested members to consider the following: \nFirst…come show your boat(s) and/or motors. \nSecond\, come and help with the set-up (date to be announced) and /takedown of our display on Sunday Jan 15th at 5 PM. \nThird\, come help man our display booth during the show. \nAdditionally\, SW ACBS is again sponsoring Kids Build a Boat\, Kids Rebuild a Motor and Kids Paint a Boat hands-on projects on the weekend days of the show. SUMMARY:Lake Houston Meet - July 17\, 2021
DESCRIPTION:Our annual summer meet for the Texas Chapter of the Antique Outboard Motor Club will be held on Saturday\, July 17th from 8:00AM until 5:00PM.This one-day boating/sell/swap meet is on Lake Houston\, a 14\,000 acre reservoir and a mere 20 minute drive from downtown Houston.   The meet is held on the south eastern side of the lake at the Indian Shores Community Center.  This facility is a lake-lodge style place resting relaxfully on 1.5 acres of beautiful waterfront.  Features that provide an excellent site for our meet include an air conditioned clubhouse (with indoor restrooms); easy slope\, double-wide boat ramp; picnic tables and shady trees.   A long pier and adjacent bulkheads provide for docking\, but be sure and bring extra boat bumpers or cushions to protect your boat. \nThis event has turned into a great relaxing family meet.  Chapter member John Platou lives on the lake and will lead us on a boat parade.  Like always\, make sure that you have the normal state-required safety gear on your boat along with your registration. \nFor lunch\, we’ll be grilling up some great hot dogs with all the fixin’s for a nominal cost per person. \nAnyone coming from out of town can make reservations for a reasonable cost at the Best Western Plus\, a 15 minute drive from the event at: 281-852-5665. SUMMARY:Louis Rothermel's 29th Annual Swap Meet - Back on the Schedule
DESCRIPTION:Louis Rothermel has invited all of us to attend his 29th consecutive Houston Swap Meet this coming November.  Friday is usually the day of arrival and most individuals will show up throughout the day. Some selling and trading usually occurs\, but the majority of the activity will fall on Saturday. We open at 9:00AM and Louis will provide coffee and donuts on Friday morning. Lunch is usually handled by ordering in burgers. We normally wrap things up by 6:00PM. \nSaturday is the heart of the meet and we will start at 9:00AM. Louis will provide the usual coffee\, soft drinks\, and donuts. We usually order in lunch by 1:00PM from Pappas Barbecue for a $10 per person fee for all you can eat. Throughout the day\, we will be visiting\, buying\, selling\, etc. Although you are encouraged to bring some motors for display\, please help spice up the meet by bringing a motor or motors that you no longer want and any parts that you would like to share with other members. We will probably end the Saturday activity at 6:00PM. \nSunday is a work on motors day. Bring your motors if you want to clean them up or get advice on how to repair them. We will open again at 9:00AM with beverages and donuts and we will stay until 6:00PM if necessary\, Lunch will probably be leftover B-B-Q. If you have never attended this meet\, you do not know what you are missing. SUMMARY:7th Annual Lipan Swap Meet - Spring 2024
DESCRIPTION:Tony and Andrea Robinson have once again volunteered to hold a swap meet at their home In Lipan\, They live on the edge of town on 1.26 acres and have a nice shop area that is great for hosting a meet.  There is also a large test tank for running outboards.  The heart of this meet will be on Saturday\, but individuals are welcome to arrive early on Friday to start the fun.  There will be a catered lunch on Saturday for a reasonable fee per person.  Tony has indicated that guests are welcome on Sunday; however\, he will be attending church that morning.  He also offers his camper to anyone wishing to use it\, but you must call to reserve it. \nGrandbury Texas which is 18 miles from Tony’s home is a quaint destination town. Grandbury has numerous restaurants\, a town square\, Breweries\, Wineries\, Marina on Lake Grandbury\, Opera Theater House\, Railroad Museum to name just a few things. You could easily stay a night in Grandbury have some fun and go to Tony’s meet. DESCRIPTION:Tony and Andrea Robinson have once again volunteered to hold a swap meet at their home in Lipan\, Texas.  They live on the edge of town on 1.26 acres and have a nice shop area that is great for hosting a meet.  There is also a large test tank for running outboards.  The heart of this meet will be on Saturday\, but individuals are welcome to arrive early on Friday to start the fun.  There will be a catered lunch on Saturday for a reasonable fee per person.  Tony has indicated that guests are welcome on Sunday\, however he will be attending church that morning.  He also offers his camper to anyone wishing to use it\, but you must call to reserve it. \nGranbury\, Texas is 18 miles from Tony’s home and is a quaint destination town. Granbury has numerous restaurants\, a town square\, breweries\, wineries\, marina on Lake Granbury\, opera theater house\, railroad museum to name just a few things. DESCRIPTION:It will soon be time for our Fall wet meet at Heart of Texas Lake Resort and we all have our fingers crossed hoping for better weather than we had in the Spring. This wet meet has proven to be great for running your boats and outboards. There are cabins\, condos\, campsites\, and a very nice launch ramp with plenty of docking slips for our boats. Some members like to arrive early on Thursday. We will have our usual picnic style lunch on Saturday night at the pavilion between the condos. SUMMARY:31st Annual Houston Swap Meet — November 7-9\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Louis Rothermel wishes to invite you to his 31st Annual Houston Swap Meet on the weekend of November 7th through 9th. \nFriday is usually the day of arrival and most individuals will show up throughout the day. Some selling and trading usually occurs\, but the majority of the activity will fall on Saturday.  We open at 9:00AM and Louis will provide coffee\, soft drinks\, and donuts on Friday morning.  Lunch is usually handled by ordering burgers. We normally wrap things up by 6:00PM. \nSaturday is the heart of the meet and we will start at 9:00AM. Louis will provide the usual coffee\, soft drinks\, and donuts.  We usually order in lunch by 1:00PM from Pappas Barbecue for a $10 per person fee for all you can eat. Throughout the day\, we will be visiting\, buying\, selling\, etc. Although you are encouraged to bring some motors for display\, please help spice up the meet by bringing a motor or motors that you no longer want and any parts that you would like to share with other members. We will probably end the Saturday activity at 6:00PM. \nSunday is a work on motors day. Bring your motors if you want to clean them up or get advice on how to repair them. We will open again at 9:00AM with beverages and donuts and we will stay until 6:00PM if necessary\, Lunch will probably be leftover B-B-Q. DESCRIPTION:Club Member Tony Robinson puts on an annual sale/swap meet at his home in Lipan\, Tx. Lipan is about 18 miles from both Grandbury and Stephenville and 50 miles west of Fort Worth. \n\n\n\nTony lives on the edge of town on 1.26 acres and has a shop area that is great to host a swap meet. He also has a large test tank to run motors and a large collection of motors and vintage boats.
