SUMMARY:31st Annual Houston Swap Meet — November 7-9\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Louis Rothermel wishes to invite you to his 31st Annual Houston Swap Meet on the weekend of November 7th through 9th. \nFriday is usually the day of arrival and most individuals will show up throughout the day. Some selling and trading usually occurs\, but the majority of the activity will fall on Saturday.  We open at 9:00AM and Louis will provide coffee\, soft drinks\, and donuts on Friday morning.  Lunch is usually handled by ordering burgers. We normally wrap things up by 6:00PM. \nSaturday is the heart of the meet and we will start at 9:00AM. Louis will provide the usual coffee\, soft drinks\, and donuts.  We usually order in lunch by 1:00PM from Pappas Barbecue for a $10 per person fee for all you can eat. Throughout the day\, we will be visiting\, buying\, selling\, etc. Although you are encouraged to bring some motors for display\, please help spice up the meet by bringing a motor or motors that you no longer want and any parts that you would like to share with other members. We will probably end the Saturday activity at 6:00PM. \nSunday is a work on motors day. Bring your motors if you want to clean them up or get advice on how to repair them. We will open again at 9:00AM with beverages and donuts and we will stay until 6:00PM if necessary\, Lunch will probably be leftover B-B-Q. If you have never attended this meet\, you do not know what you are missing. SUMMARY:7th Annual Lipan Swap Meet - Spring 2024
DESCRIPTION:Tony and Andrea Robinson have once again volunteered to hold a swap meet at their home In Lipan\, They live on the edge of town on 1.26 acres and have a nice shop area that is great for hosting a meet.  There is also a large test tank for running outboards.  The heart of this meet will be on Saturday\, but individuals are welcome to arrive early on Friday to start the fun.  There will be a catered lunch on Saturday for a reasonable fee per person.  Tony has indicated that guests are welcome on Sunday; however\, he will be attending church that morning.  He also offers his camper to anyone wishing to use it\, but you must call to reserve it. \nGrandbury Texas which is 18 miles from Tony’s home is a quaint destination town. Grandbury has numerous restaurants\, a town square\, Breweries\, Wineries\, Marina on Lake Grandbury\, Opera Theater House\, Railroad Museum to name just a few things. You could easily stay a night in Grandbury have some fun and go to Tony’s meet. Change of start time.  Some folks will be arriving the sale/swap meet on Friday afternoon to set up etc.\, so it will be difficult to try and control private dealings so the decision was made to open up the upcoming meet on Friday afternoon the 15th at  2:00PM  and continue Saturday morning the 16th opening at 9:00AM.  We expect over 50 outboard motors along with several boats to be offered for sale. Should you choose to want to attend on Friday and have any questions do not hesitate to contact John Slator at cjslator@intergate.com or cell 979-357-2498.\nA FYI for those members attending the meet a club member informed me that less than 15 miles away from John’s house is a gas station that sells Ethanol-free gas. If you want take a few cans and fill them up. There will be a few of those roll around stands for sale illustrated in the pictures. \nJohnson 1956 – 15 HP\, electric start is rare\, expect normal going over before  use\, good compression and heavy duty 5 bolt l/u. \nMercury (dirty thirty) MK 30\, 58A Powerhead. John Slator’s comments: “It is electric start\, no tiller and I believe it came from Martin Waylon’s stable of motors. It has good even compression and appears complete. First one I ever saw.” \nMercury KF5\, collector quality (not shown) \nMercury MK 55\, electric \n(2) Evinrude Speeditwins – 5039\, are both 1950 models\, good tanks and should make easy      runners. Missing some spark plug covers\, anybody with extras please bring\, need three. \nMercury 10A\, parts motor \nJohnson K-40\, 1928 \nMercury MK 20 rat motor (no cowlings) has spark and a fuel pump installed. Good even compression \nEvinrude 35 electric\, 1958 \nWizard\, 10 HP\, rat motor \nEvinrude 15\, 1955 \nWaterwitch \nEvinrude 3 HP\, (mid 60’s) \nJohnson QD 14 \nMercury KE 7 \nJohnson QD 10 \nGale 3 HP \nMartin 66 \nChampion 7.9 HP \nMercury MK 7 \nWizard WG 7 \nMercury 50 HP parts motor has many good parts on it\, starter\, l/u prop etc. \nBOATS:  \n8′ Glen-L “Tiny Titan” Hydro.  Features includes Elgin cable steering\, deadman’s throttle set-up\, speedometer and a new “Footcush” kneeling pad.  Includes custom built trailer with spare wheel/tire and a custom tailored Sunbrella boat cover.  Motor is 1947 Mercury KE-7 10 hp “Lightning”. Rare motor with factory option twist throttle accessory. Lower cowl is available separately.  Boat and trailer each have clean title and papers. \nA 14′ foot black and white glass boat and trailer (maker unknown for sure) comes with a title. The trailer is road worthy\, the boat needs everything. If you bring a trailer\, the boat is yours free otherwise both boat and trailer is $150. The trailer is a good Dilly galvanized rig. \n13″ Ouachita has a new transom\, good paperwork and the trailer has new bearings. \n14″ Arkansas Traveler\,completely redone\, w/ console and good trailer. Older boat with wood gunwales and title.
